Tracking Technologies
Cookies & Web Beacons. We use common tracking technologies, which include cookies, web beacons, and pixel tags (collectively, “Tracking Technologies”) to collect the information detailed earlier in this Privacy Policy. Cookies are small computer files that we transfer to your computer’s hard drive. These cookies allow us to understand how often you visit the All Things Cancer + Wellness Expo website and the activities you conduct while on the site (e.g., whether you register for an Expo pass or engage with certain content). Every device is assigned a different cookie by us. We may also use web beacons to collect anonymous, non-personal data about your use of our website. Web beacons are tiny graphic image files embedded in a web page or email that send information from the user’s browser back to its home server. This information helps us monitor how many people are using our website or opening our emails.
We may use information from cookies and web beacons collected from your use of the site to target your online activity with certain advertisements and/or to determine the popularity of certain content or advertisements. By using our website, you agree to the All Things Cancer + Wellness Expo collecting and using your behavioral information for these purposes. Please note that due to our use of cookies, the website does not support “Do Not Track” requests sent from a browser at this time.
We use the following types of cookies:
Essential Cookies
Essential cookies are required to provide you with features or services that you have requested. For example, certain cookies enable you to log into secure areas of our website. Disabling these cookies may make certain features and services unavailable.
Functional Cookies
Functional cookies are used to record your choices and settings regarding our services, maintain your preferences over time, and recognize you when you return. These cookies help us personalize content for you, greet you by name, and remember your preferences (e.g., your choice of language or region).
Performance/Analytical Cookies
Performance/analytical cookies help us understand how visitors use our services. They collect information about the number of visitors, the pages visitors view, and how long they stay on each page. Performance/analytical cookies also help us measure the performance of our advertising campaigns to improve their effectiveness. For example, Google Analytics collects data through cookies to help us analyze the use of our website, track audience reach, and optimize the delivery of site and ad content based on your interests. We also use Google Display Network Impression Reporting to measure the effectiveness of different ad types across various platforms. We may use additional Google products for advertising purposes, but we will not combine non-personally identifiable information collected by Google Analytics with your personal data.
You can opt out of Google Analytics by using the Google Analytics Opt-Out Tool at www.google.com/privacy_ads.html or the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-On at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout/.
Retargeting/Advertising Cookies
Retargeting/advertising cookies collect data about your online activity and identify your interests so we can deliver advertising that is relevant to you. We work with advertisers who use tracking technology (e.g., Meta Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, Twitter Pixel) to collect information about your site activity and third-party website activity. This allows us to customize content and advertising delivered to you based on your interests. These third parties may also generate analytics reports that we use to improve our website and the delivery of targeted ad content.
We will not combine non-personally identifiable information collected through third-party advertiser tracking with your personal data.
Deactivating Cookies
You can block the collection of your information and site activity by disabling cookies. Instructions on how to disable cookies can be found on the support page of your respective browser. Please note that deactivating cookies may impact our ability to provide certain services or features of the website.
To explore cookie and tracking technology settings and manage your preferences, you can access the cookie management settings on our website. For more information about cookies generally, including how to manage and delete cookies, please visit http://www.allaboutcookies.org/ or https://ico.org.uk/for-the-public/online/cookies/ (for users in the European Union).
How We Use Cookie and Web Beacon Information
The information collected by cookies and web beacons helps us dynamically generate content on the website or in emails that is specifically designed for you. It also allows us to monitor site traffic (e.g., user location, device type, browser selection, referring website, demographic information) and provide advertising tailored to you, as discussed in the Marketing and Promotions section.
We may serve advertisements, and allow third-party ad networks, including third-party ad servers, ad agencies, ad technology vendors, and research firms, to serve advertisements through our services. These advertisements may be targeted to users who fit certain general profile categories or show certain preferences or behaviors (“Interest-Based Ads”). Information for interest-based ads (including personal data) may be provided to us by you or derived from usage patterns on our website and third-party services.
We comply with the Digital Advertising Alliance (“DAA”) Self-Regulatory Principles for Online Behavioral Advertising. Through the DAA and Network Advertising Initiative (“NAI”), several media and marketing associations have developed an industry self-regulatory program to provide consumers with greater understanding and control over ads customized based on online behavior across different websites. To make choices about interest-based ads from participating third parties, you can visit the DAA or NAI consumer opt-out pages at http://www.networkadvertising.org/choices/ or www.aboutads.info/choices. Users in the European Union should visit the European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance’s website http://www.youronlinechoices.eu/.
