Attendee Health & Safety

The following health and safety guidelines are designed to ensure a secure and comfortable experience at the All Things Cancer + Wellness Expo (“Expo”). This information is not exhaustive and may be updated to reflect applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines.

    HEALTH SAFETY

    We encourage all attendees to prioritize their health and exercise personal responsibility. Please adhere to the following guidelines:

    Commitment to Health Safety

    • Practice good respiratory etiquette, such as masking (where applicable) and covering your nose and mouth when coughing or sneezing.
    • Wash or sanitize your hands frequently.
    • Follow CDC recommendations for reducing the spread of illnesses, including COVID-19.
    • Do not attend if you exhibit symptoms of illness or have tested positive for COVID-19 and have not met CDC isolation guidelines.

    Note: During previous health crises, the Expo implemented mask policies and required proof of negative tests or vaccination. Similar measures may be enacted if necessary.


    SAFETY GUIDELINES

    General Advice

    • If you notice suspicious activity or behavior, report it immediately by dialing 9-1-1.
    • Be mindful of your surroundings and take note of the venue name, address, and cross streets.
    • Offer help to others when it is safe to do so. Notify event staff if someone appears ill or in need of assistance.

    Wellness Tips

    • Stay hydrated by bringing a reusable water bottle.
    • Keep your phone fully charged and carry any important contact numbers.
    • Bring a list of medications or allergies for emergencies.
    • Dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes.
    • Use sunscreen, hats, and sunglasses if the event includes outdoor activities.
    • Get adequate rest before and after the Expo.

    Navigating the Event

    • Walk with a companion or group whenever possible.
    • Designate a meeting spot in case you get separated from your group.
    • Park in well-lit areas and take note of your vehicle’s location. Avoid tow-away zones.
    • Make transportation plans in advance to avoid delays during peak times.
    • Familiarize yourself with venue layouts, including exits and emergency shelters.

    Venue Safety

    • Identify at least two exit routes in case of an emergency.
    • If an alarm sounds, evacuate immediately and follow directions from staff or First Responders.
    • Do not leave drinks unattended or accept open drinks or food from strangers.

    EMERGENCY EVACUATIONS OR SHELTER-IN-PLACE ORDERS

    In the event of an evacuation or shelter-in-place directive:

    • Move calmly and quickly to the nearest emergency exit or shelter.
    • Follow instructions from event staff, security personnel, or First Responders.
    • Avoid collecting belongings unless instructed to do so.

    PROTECTING YOUR PROPERTY

    • Keep your hotel address stored separately from your phone or wallet.
    • Never write your room number on your hotel key.
    • Record serial numbers for electronic devices or valuables.
    • Lock your vehicle and avoid leaving valuables in plain sight.

    If you lose important items like wallets or passports, file a police report immediately by dialing 3-1-1 or (215) 686-1776. Notify your credit card providers or bank to secure your accounts.


    WEATHER AWARENESS

    Philadelphia weather can be unpredictable, so monitor forecasts and plan accordingly.

    • For weather alerts, visit the National Weather Service at weather.gov.
    • In case of inclement weather, updates will be shared via the Expo’s social media channels and email notifications.

    EVENT POLICIES

    Weapons-Free Policy
    The Expo is a weapons-free event. Please do not bring firearms, knives, or any other weapons. Please see Expo Weapons Free Policy

    Bag Restrictions & Searches

    • We encourage attendees to travel light and leave valuables at home.
    • Bag checks may be required at certain venues. A small or clear bag with essential items is recommended.

    Drone Policy
    The use of drones or Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) is prohibited at the Expo.

    Certain items may be restricted for safety reasons. Venue-specific policies may apply, so please review individual guidelines.


    CODE OF CONDUCT

    The Expo strives to create an environment of respect and inclusivity. Inappropriate, disruptive, abusive, or illegal behavior will not be tolerated.
