At 24 years old, Kara Ladd’s fast-paced, career-driven life came to a screeching halt when she was forced to fight a one-in-a-million cancer diagnosis — otherwise known as synovial sarcoma, a rare soft tissue cancer. Ladd put her life on hold as she gracefully fought through chemotherapy, radiation, and two surgeries in order to break through, what she personally believes, is the brighter more authentic side of her life. She just celebrated her 1 year clean this past July.
Today, Ladd is a New York City-based strategic and creative consultant, writer, speaker, and blogger. She is the Founder of Boundless, an all-encompassing mindful lifestyle consulting company and personal content destination that focuses on sustainable living, holistic wellness, and nontoxic beauty.
Ladd honed her skills working as Hearst Digital Media’s E-Commerce and Partnerships Editor, where she curated content across sites ranging from Harper’s Bazaar and Marie Claire to Good Housekeeping and Elle Decor. Prior to her career in editorial, she had a profession in sustainable fashion consulting working with clients such as LVMH, CFDA, and Parsons. On a personal level, Ladd hails from St.Louis, Missouri, but her family now lives in Boulder, Colorado — the mountain town where she also attended the University of Colorado. To her core, Kara is a leopard print enthusiast who loves vintage shopping, oat milk matchas, and never turns down a nontoxic face mask.
